Assistant Professor of Interior Design
Ioanna Theocharopoulou was born in Athens. She received her training in architecture at the Architectural Association in London (AA Diploma). She holds a Masters in Advanced Architectural Design (MSAAD), and a Ph.D. in Architecture (History & Theory), from Columbia University. Her research focuses on cities and on the histories and theories of sustainable design. She has participated in numerous academic conferences and events, has contributed chapters in several anthologies on architectural and urban histories, and is the author of Builders, Housewives and the Construction of Modern Athens, (Artifice Books on Architecture, 2017). Theocharopoulou is an Assistant Professor at the School of Constructed Environments at Parsons the New School for Design.
