Courtney Puckett, born Winter Park, FL, lives and works in Brooklyn and Holmes, NY. She holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, MFA from Hunter College, and studied at the Center for Art and Culture in Aix-en-Provence, France, Glasgow School of Art, and University of New Mexico. Puckett was an Artist-in-Residence through Underwater NY/Works on Water on Governor’s Island, NY in 2018, an Artist-in-Residence in Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Workspace Program 2016-17, a Full Fellowship recipient as an Artist-in-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center in 2017, and an Artist-in-Residence at Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, NY 2010.
Solo and two person exhibitions include Flecker Gallery at Suffolk County Community College, CUAC Utah, Coop Nashville, and Field Projects, NY.Group exhibitions include White Columns online, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, NY, The Parlour Bushwick, NY, The Shirley Fiterman Art Center, NY, Fine Arts Gallery at Westchester County Community College, NY, BRICArts, NY, Indianapolis Museum of Art, IN, Wallspace, NY, Noyes Museum of Art, NJ, Seton Hall University, NJ, Long Island University, NY and Jamaica Center for Art, NY. In 2016, she collaborated with Neville Dance Studio to create a new choreography piece for Norte Maar with The Brooklyn Ballet’s CounterPointe Performance Series and curated “Drawing for Sculpture” a 40-person exhibition at TSA, NY. Puckett is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts project grant and was featured on ArtFCity, Hyperallergic, Painting is Dead, Tribeca Tribune, and NYTimes art blog.
