    Profile

Martin De Bie is a graduate of the École supérieure d'art et de Design de Saint-Etienne and EnsADLab, the research department École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. De Bie is also a co-founder of the DataPaulette collective and winner of the 2019 research grant by the Agora du Design.

He splits his time between teaching digital cultures and practices at ENSAD and other institutions, and his personal research.

De Bie’s personal research is based on the hybridization between artisanal knowledge and innovative processes with the goal of imagining resilient scenarios for the technological objects of our daily life, in tandem with current environmental issues.

Focusing specifically on the process, he pays a particular attention to the documentation of his work and the porosity between it and his teaching, as they evolve and feed each other.
