Jennifer is a writer/director/actor. She is winner of the 2022 Shondaland women’s directing mentorship. Jennifer was awarded best female creator by AMC networks at the 2021 Stareable TV Festival for her new series, “if I’m alive next week” which she co-created with Robbie Sublett. “if I’m alive next week,” had its world premiere at the 2021Tribeca Film Festival. The series went on to win Best Digital Short Series, Best Comedy, Audience Award and Best Writer at 2021 Seriesfest; Outstanding Short Comedy Series at Catalyst Story Institute, and Best Episodic Series at Nashville Film Festival.
Her new pilot “This is Chuck” has been selected for the 2022 Gotham TV & Film Project Market this fall at the Brooklyn Navy Yards.
Jennifer is a founding member of the OBIE award-winning theatre company, The Civilians. The Civilians’ work has been produced at numerous theaters in New York including BAM, Playwrights Horizons, The Public Theater, and Vineyard Theatre; nationally at Center Theatre Group, A.R.T., Goodman Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, HBO's US Comedy Festival, and Actors Theatre of Louisville among others. Her deeply personal show with The Civilians, YOU BETTER SIT DOWN: tales from my parents’ divorce had a celebrated off-Broadway run and was expanded into platforms online through partnerships with the Huffington Post and NPR/WNYC.
She co-produced the feature length documentary Mentor from Academy Award winning Wider Films and director Alix Lambert. Mentor was an official selection at the Austin Film Festival and won Honorable Mention for Best Documentary at the Woodstock Film Festival. She also produced the short films Buzzer (directed by Anne Kauffman/written by Tracey Scott Wilson), Tiffany (aired on PBS’ POV doc series) and The Unknown Seven (Official selection Nantucket Film Festival).
Jennifer has written and hosted shows on the Food Network and WE in addition to creating/developing digital series for ABC/Disney, Fremantle Media, and FMX.
As an actress, Jennifer has worked at Playwrights Horizons, Ars Nova, Soho Rep, P.S. 122, Cherry Lane, Barrow Street, Williamstown, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and ART, among others. She has appeared on the NBC shows “ER”, “Profiler”, and “Law & Order” and in numerous national commercials.
Jennifer taught acting and documentary theatre at NYU TISCH School of the Arts, Playwrights Horizon from 2014 - 2018. She has been a guest artist and created work with undergrads at CUNY, Sarah Lawrence, Emerson, and the apprentice company at Williamstown Theatre Festival, among others.
