  • Coronavirus Update

    Greetings,

I hope that each of you is well.

During this critical time of the covid-19 pandemic, our commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice stand as essential pillars in our response and continued work. As part of that effort, we will host the Campus Climate Assessment meetings via Zoom. While some meetings must be rescheduled due to a rapidly changing schedule, other meetings will proceed at their regularly scheduled time. Please check the Eventbrite for your meeting for details. Remember that Zoom meetings may be joined either via your computer or mobile device.

As another way to offer feedback on the Campus Climate Assessment, please also note that there is a form on this webpage. The health, well-being and continued growth and development of our community remain a priority for all of us. In this challenging time, we are presented with an opportunity to care for ourselves and one another. I look forward to speaking with you via Zoom.

    Warm regards,
    Melanie

    Participating in the Assessment

Thank you for your continued support of The New School Campus Climate Assessment for equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice. The full reports, as well as the Climate Assessment Task Force recommendations, are available on this webpage.

As next steps, there are at least two ways for you to engage.

First, to help finalize the University-wide recommendations you are invited to participate in a discussion regarding the Task Force recommendations.  The Task Force developed recommendations within four priority areas: (1) Student experience and support to graduate students on time, (2) Leadership and accountability to institutionalize equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice, (3) Research, curriculum and pedagogy, and (4) Equitable opportunity and access for staff and faculty hiring, retention, development, and advancement. Each discussion will focus upon one priority area. You have the opportunity to sign up for a discussion with your peer group of students, staff, or faculty, respectively, or for an open meeting that may include faculty, staff, and students. Light refreshments will be served.  (Meeting dates listed below. Please note, additional dates may be added).

Second, you may lend your feedback and advice by completing this form.
