• Journalism and Design (Minor)

    The Journalism + Design minor is offered through Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts.

    Journalism + Design merges design thinking with time-tested journalistic principles and practice for an era of rapid change. Learn more about the program.

    Curriculum

    The minor in Journalism + Design requires completion of the following five courses:

    • LLSJ 2001 News and Narrative I (4 credits)
    • LLSJ 3001 News, Narrative, and Design II (4 credits)
    • LLSJ 3505 Visualizing Data (4 credits)
    • 2 electives chosen in consultation with the departmental faculty advisor. One of these must be at the 3000 level or higher. 

    Total: 18-20 credits

    Students must receive a grade of C or better in all courses to fulfill the minor. See the university course catalog for Spring 2020 Journalism + Design courses that fulfill these requirements.

    Minors are available to undergraduate students across The New School. Please meet with your Student Success Advisor to see how a minor will fit in with your overall degree requirements.
