• Anthropology (Minor)

  • Overview

    The Anthropology minor is offered through Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts.

    Anthropology minors combine multiple disciplines to study human beings and the worlds they inhabit. Gain fresh insight into contemporary issues at the nexus of nature and culture, past and future, the local and the global. Courses reflect the diverse interests of an international faculty.     Curriculum

    2Tier I / Introductory (2000-level) courses, one each from two of the three departmental designations*6
    3Tier III / LANT (3000- or 4000-level) electives, ideally taken after completion of Tier I courses. Of these, at least two must be in different designations.*12

    *The three designations are Reading Anthropology, Writing Anthropology, and Doing Anthropology.

    Students must receive a grade of C or better in all courses taken to fulfill the minor.

    Minors are available to undergraduate students across The New School.
