    Profile

    Soje is a writer and the translator of Lee Hyemi’s Unexpected Vanilla (Tilted Axis Press, 2020), Lee Soho’s Catcalling (Open Letter Books, 2021), Choi Jin-young’s To the Warm Horizon (Honford Star, 2021), and Choi Jin-young’s Hunger (Brazen Books, 2025). They also make chogwa, a zine that features one Korean poem and multiple English translations per issue.

    Soje received a BA in English from the University of California, Berkeley, where they won the Dorothy Rosenberg Prize in Lyric Poetry, and an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School as a Public Engagement Scholar and Teaching Fellow. They teach writing and literary translation at The New School and Columbia University.
