    Unseers
In my project, Unseers are imaginary beings who are perpetually suspended in an inward-facing state of psychedelic meditation. Wise, blind oracles who exist in response to the ravages of humankind, they activate sound to connect consciousness and future vision. Unseers live in a world composed of handmade wool felt, a textile first made by pastoral nomads over 10,000 years ago. The project draws on Hindu and Buddhist Tantra traditions to evoke a world in which dreaming and manifesting are tools to guide us out of crisis. Partially produced at an artisanal factory in the Himalayas, this project innovates new systems for sourcing and production that address fashion and garment construction’s biggest problems — respect for people and the Earth. The project won an award for Excellence in Climate Justice and Sustainability from the Tishman Center for Environment & Design at The New School. My project demonstrates mastery in felt-making and creativity in world-building and visionary systems thinking.
