Dezso Studio and Tea Pavilion
In my project, you (the client) walk into the sunset. Straight ahead you find two back-lit hand-painted screens adorned with palm trees. The tea pavilion, clad entirely in ambient yellow marble, is accented by a large Japanese parasol chandelier that emits an amber glow, creating a warm environment that envelopes its guests. This isn’t a “take away” joint but a space for people to sit and enjoy the aromatic flavors of the tea brand Bellocq, which is creating a unique assortment of private label blends for the Dezso space. Not unlike the tea pavilion of Charlotte Perriand, this space will be an escape for those who want to relax, talk about art and design, read, or contemplate the latest gallery exhibition. By including a tea pavilion, we are engaging the customer to come and visit, peruse the objects, and be inspired. If guests walk away with a silver dipped conch shell or diamond bracelet, then all the better! This is a space to showcase designs and enjoy a rounded experience. Brand awareness is key, as well as having an open showroom for clients and buyers to be enveloped by the brand’s strong aesthetics.
