    Streetwear Origins

Streetwear remixes an array of fashion and visual references into its own medium. With reflections from iconic designers and industry experts, this course traces streetwear from its countercultural origins to its standing as a force in business and society.

    Thinking Like a Designer

Learn how to turn inspiration into garments with lessons on brand narrative and identity, typography and logos, materials, tech packs, and sampling.

    Marketing, Branding, and Visual Communication

Learn every aspect of marketing strategy for streetwear. You will emerge from this course with the ability to pinpoint your consumer, leverage media, create marketing materials, and identify the most worthwhile trade shows and brand activations.

The Future of Streetwear Retail and Distribution

Streetwear designers originally rejected physical retailing and traditional advertising. But as these forms of distributing and selling fashion become outmoded even for mainstream companies, will streetwear continue to innovate? Topics covered include VR and AR, new models of e-commerce, 3D and 4D printing, and direct-to-consumer sales.

    Business and Entrepreneurship

Fashion cannot flourish creatively without consumer support. This course examines the fundamentals of business: determining whether you’re ready for retail, deciding how and where to sell products, and pursuing strategic partnerships.

  • “I’m loving the course so far. It was just what I needed to take my brand to the next level.”

    — Willeen C., Streetwear Essentials student
