  • 123_213_312: A Beacon in Brooklyn

    Advising
Architecture as activator and animator: This thesis is the intersection of community, culture, food, train, and form - activated by light. This design is part of the Triboro Rx initiative, and will be located in an unconventional site - a trench in Brooklyn. How can architecture and light speak to the neighborhood in a positive way while also delivering something new and exciting? Providing a variety of programs is key in order to create architecture that activates the community and also animates the site and becomes a beacon and an icon for the neighborhood. This project is a design for the city and for the community, as well as a point of interest for the everyday person. A light rail station, a market, and a music school all meet in a trench in Brooklyn.
