  • HOUSING A MARKET: INTERSECTIONS OF PUBLIC EXCHANGE

    Advising
While Mexico’s plazas have historically been a place for the exchange of goods, services and news, Ibarra’s formal public space has found itself diminishing in importance. The redesign of the public market and Ibarra’s vernacular architecture reinstates this plaza's stature as a shared public space, reactivating the liveliness of market culture and intersecting the public and private by investigating the organization of the homes that surround the plaza and also serve as marketplaces.
