    Interlinked

In my project, I used the medium of video to explore disruption, restraint, and foreshadowing. The video was shown to the class, eliciting a variety of reactions and interpretations. One viewer felt that the chains shown in the video were preventing people from submitting to their vices, such as smoking and drinking coffee.

From the video and the many interpretations of it I learned that film can be used to not only share a message but call forth a feeling. Some viewers experienced unease and other unpleasant emotions—but what is art if not to make you feel something?

Using the medium of video, I was able to play with time and offer glimpses of the future while preventing viewers from fully understanding what they were watching until it was over. I used sound, video, and time manipulation to evoke strong emotions in viewers and allow them to develop their own interpretations of the work.
