    She Who Turns to Air

My project is a hollow lace bust that presents Medusa not as a monster but as a symbol of feminine strength. Formed of stiffened soft lace, the sculpture challenges the way we view power, fear, and beauty. Medusa’s floating hair is motion frozen in place, suggesting not her mythical lethal gaze but the gaze of others upon her. Fear, perhaps, arises not from who she is—but from the way we choose to see her.

    Size: 11.42 × 14.17 × 14.17 inches
    Materials: lace, glue, fabric stiffener
