    Advising

My thesis project, Health and Fitness, is a series of six 40' x 60' photographic inkjet prints and a CRT TV Installation. The project examines the act of self-improvement through material consumption. I am interested in the societal and psychological reasons behind the need to maintain an appearance of health and well-being, as well as the measures we take to do so.

To produce the work, I considered on my own recent history. To photograph things that no longer exist, I used 3D design software and computer generated imaging to produce photographic prints that act as windows to the past and portray our often excessive desire to maintain appearances.
