The Doc Will See You Now (2016)

This project considers the genesis of the hospital as a centralized place for the city’s undesirables—a catchall for the needs of the poor. Bellevue Hospital Center was a triad of institutions: a public workhouse, a corrections institute, and an almshouse for the care of the poor.

This project proposes a more consolidated and efficient medical system interpreted through six programmatic spaces. By prioritizing informal, digitally facilitated interactions through light and architecture, this thesis seeks to set up a new norm by redefining the hospital experience and transforming informal clinical encounters into a formalized clinical experience. www.linkedin.com/in/abrahamchandler
