    Viktoria Usui-Barbo

    Profile

    Viktoria Barbo is the Managing Director of the Design-Engineering Studio Matter Workshop and the Creative Director of the Design and Research Practice Resonant Matter. With a technical foundation in Architecture and Art from the Bauhaus to Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute, Viktoria has worked as a Designer, Architect, and Project manager with internationally acclaimed designers and architects in Japan, America, and Germany on projects across different scales. In addition to this Viktoria has been engaged in furthering design education as an event moderator and coordinator for the initiative Digitalfutures.world as well as an invited critic across design schools.

    Research Interests

    Viktoria is interested in ideas surrounding the cultural and spatial effects of perception and ecology. Her research focuses on the intersection between natural, built, and digital environments driven by ideas of transformation, perception, and resonance across human and more than human ecologies.​
