Profile
Timo Kuzme (they/them) is a New York based visual artist, performer, and professor at Parsons/The New School and the Maryland Institute College of Art. They teach Painting, Writing, Philosophy, Drawing, 3D, and Fiber Arts. Born without organs, they use the action of painting to grow them. Through the language of their agender body they use paint, movement, and sound to ask questions about gender, identity and being. Their work has been featured in shows in the US and internationally. Recently they were invited to perform and talk at the ELIA Biennial in Helsinki, Finland. Evolving out of a studio restructuring from the pandemic, their practice has expanded to include live painting and sound performances. Currently they are in the planning stages of an international conference and show rooted in Cezanne's “Logic of the Senses” produced with fellow artist and academic Ethan Spigland.
