Maya Suess is an artist, educator and arts administrator. She has recently worked as the Director of Fellowships and Public Programming at apexart, in Tribeca, and was the Managing Director of Flux Factory, an Artist Residency space in Long Island City Queens from 2016 to 2021. Arts administration and programming grew out of a love of organizing, working with and understanding the needs of artists.
Her creative work includes drawing, installation, video and performance. She currently programs a quarterly cabaret variety show in New York City. Her work has been shown work at the Leslie Lohman Museum (NYC), the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Film Anthology Archives (NYC), The European Cultural Capital, Umeå2014 (Umeå, Sweden), The Western Front (Vancouver, Canada); Kansai Queer Film Festival (Kansai, Japan) among many others.
She holds a BFA in Media Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and an MFA in contemporary performance from Simon Fraser University.
