Lily Kruse is a New York based art and design historian with a speciality in 18th and 19th century American and French visual culture, as well as 15th century Italian Renaissance art as it pertains to cultural and religious transformation. Her work examines the intersections of political and aesthetic ideologies as they manifest through visual expressions. She is currently researching examples of colonialist ideology throughout French political events of the 18th century and how they affected the development of the French salon.
Lily earned her Masters in the History of Design and Curatorial Studies from Parsons School of Design in New York City. She also works with design museums across New York, consulting with audience engagement and curriculum development.
