    Kenneth Anand

    Profile

    Kenneth John Anand is an attorney, author, and educator whose work defines the intersection of intellectual property, fashion, and sports law. A pioneer in the legalities of the creative economy, Anand is best known as the co-founder of Sneaker Law, a groundbreaking educational and advisory platform designed specifically for the athletic footwear and apparel ecosystem. Before entering academia, Anand spent over 15 years in private practice in New York City, specializing in corporate employment, intellectual property, and transactional law. In 2017, he transitioned in-house to serve as the General Counsel and Head of Business Development for Yeezy Apparel and Kanye West. During his tenure, he oversaw the legal architecture and business operations for one of the world’s most influential fashion brands during its period of rapid global expansion and high-profile collaborations. Currently, Anand serves as Of Counsel and Director of Client Relations at Jayaram Law, where he advises a diverse roster of creatives, designers, and brands on trademark litigation and brand protection.

    Recent Publications

    Sneaker Law. In 2017, Anand co-founded Sneaker Law, an initiative that has transformed how legal education is delivered to the creative industry. He is the co-author of the landmark textbook, Sneaker Law: All You Need to Know About the Sneaker Business (2020), and its expanded second edition, Sneaker Law V2 (2024).  The publication has been hailed as a "legal bible" for the industry, recognized by Fashionista as one of the "21 Best Fashion Books of All Time" and by Harper’s Bazaar India as a "must-watch" for those breaking into the fashion world. The project is noted for its culturally-engaging, visual-heavy design, intentionally crafted to make dense legal and business concepts accessible to designers, entrepreneurs, and students alike.

    An adjunct law professor and a frequent lecturer, Anand has taught his specialized curriculum at over 40 institutions, including Harvard Law School, Yale Law School, and the University of Miami. At Parsons, he brings this "real-world" legal perspective to the next generation of design leaders, bridging the gap between creative innovation and commercial protection.  

    A recognized authority on industry trends, Anand’s expert analysis is frequently featured in major media outlets, including: The New York Times, Bloomberg, Businessweek, The Today Show, NBC News, WWD, & Hypebeast.
