Johann Verheem is an entrepreneur, prolific inventor, and adjunct graduate professor whose work explores the relationship between design strategy, customer motivation, and market adoption. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has developed and scaled consumer products across beauty, wellness, and fitness, contributing to category-defining brands such as Proactiv, Windsor Pilates, Total Core, and Shake Weight.
As founder and CEO of JH Direct Group and Dogface for Men, Verheem focuses on translating design insight into commercially viable products and brands. His teaching at Parsons draws on extensive professional experience in product development, direct-to-consumer strategy, and performance marketing. His current academic focus examines how innovation frameworks such as design thinking and customer “jobs to be done” are evolving in response to technological change.
