Janneke Wade-de Jong is a filmmaker whose films focus on various social justice movements and elevating public awareness of mental health programs. Themes in her work explore disparities in public health education, stigmas of mental health on men of color, community response to police brutality in communities of color, the long term impact on seniors who came of age during WWII era, as well as the intersection of environmental protection efforts and the new approaches to PTSD therapy. Janneke’s passion for film started in High School where she studied film at the International Baccalaureate Higher Level and flourished when she studied Film and Television Production at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and earned her BFA. She recently obtained her Masters degree at University at North Carolina at Wilmington where she served as Teaching Assistant and Instructor of Record.
