Profile
Gregory Scott, a graduate of the AAS Fashion Design program at Parsons the New School for Design, has honed his skills as a patternmaker, tailor, and technical designer for multiple brands over the last decade. From designer to mass market, Scotts’ expertise has led such brands as John Varvatos, Steven Alan, Ralph Lauren, Joe Fresh, and e-commerce brand, Bonobos, to increased sales and quality constructed clothing. As Sr. Director of Technical Design for global fashion at Victorinox, Scott specialized in tailored blazers, fuctional and specialty outerwear, and working with international factories to achieve higher standards of construction for the iconic fashion brand. With a background and interest in haute couture / traditional tailoring techniques, Scott shares his expertise and talent teaching construction, patternmaking and technical studio classes at Parsons, consults with start-up brands both as a patternmaker, technical engineer and product developer, and owns / operates his own studio for private clientele. He was a recipient of the b.Michael Fashion Design Award in 2005 for his provocative menswear, presenting a runway show and installation at an art gallery in Soho. His belief in the art of apparel has led him to share his skill-set with students and professionals alike.
