Design Educator / Graphic Designer
I teach multiple design subjects at the college level and work as a graphic
designer, art director, and creative director.
I have taught primarily at The New School/Parsons School of Design and also
at Pratt. Currently, I am teaching Typography I and Graphic/Digital Basic Core
at Parsons. Other courses I have taught include Design Fundamentals (2D),
Graphic Design (all levels), Typography (all levels), Color Theory, and Graphic
Design History.
My career has included staff positions—managerial and art direction—at
Saatchi Healthcare Advertising, HBO, several other Time-Warner companies,
Cunningham & Walsh (consumer advertising) and my own design firm.
Freelance clients have included major healthcare and consumer advertising
agencies, top consumer magazines and corporations in a wide range of
industries. Design work has included branding, advertising, promotion, corporate
collateral, editorial, packaging, exhibits, interactive, video and web for hundreds
of brands.
I am a graduate of Cooper Union in fine arts and studied music (clarinet major) at
Oberlin Conservatory and liberal arts at Oberlin College and Columbia University.
Current interests are focused on design and creative projects for cultural,
environmental, human rights and equality, and animal protection organizations.
I live and work in both New York City and Sarasota, FLA.
