Profile
Chris McVoy co-founded O’Neill McVoy Architects in 2012 to make transformative architecture by catalyzing the latent potentials of a project – the special qualities of site, client’s aspirations, and cultural exigencies. The studio’s award-winning built work and theoretical proposals include residential, commercial and institutional buildings realized with the aim of elevating the everyday through shaping contours of space and material, animated by light.
Chris is an expert in the design and construction of cultural and educational buildings. He also specializes in seamlessly integrating new projects into contexts of cultural and historical importance. Prior to co-piloting O’Neill McVoy Architects, he was Senior Partner at Steven Holl Architects for over two decades, where he is now Partner Emeritus. Chris has led transformative designs for a wide-range of public and private clients. His work has received international recognition and awards. He has lectured widely, and has been an active visiting critic at several universities.
