Yvette Chaparro is the Director of the MFA Industrial Design programme and Assistant Professor of Product and Industrial Design, in the School of Constructed Environments.
She is an educator and industrial designer. Yvette Chaparro Studio’s clients include Restoration Hardware, Ammara Designs, Villeroy&Boch, Harry Allen Design, Kate Spade, Prym Consumer, TriCoastal Design, West Elm, Ralph Lauren, and more. While working for the design firms Global Brands Group and Springs Global, she was brand-leader for products created for Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Happy Chic, Juicy Couture, Nate Berkus (Target), Genevieve Gorder, and Diana Vreeland. Yvette has been teaching product and industrial designs at Parsons since 2015 as part-time faculty, and has also taught at Academy of Art University.
Yvette was educated at Pratt Institute (master of industrial design) and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (professional degree, industrial design), and participated in the Scandinavian Furniture Design Programme through the University of Copenhagen’s international study programme. She is currently a PhD Candidate at Transart and Liverpool John Moores University.
