MICHAEL WIEMEYER is a graphic designer and partner at Designlounge, a visual communications design studio in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in brand identity, complex and integrated marketing communications and interactive design. A native of Germany, he received his BFA in Graphic Design and Visual Communications from the University of Design in Duesseldorf, Germany. Michael founded Designlounge with his partner Kathryn Porter in 2002. Clients from the non-profit area and eductional institutions, the arts, technology and travel include StoryCorps, Yale University, Columbia University, Riverdale Country School, Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies, Revenue Watch Institute, Women Deliver, Petit St. Vincent Resort, Guana Island Resort, Amy Arbus Photography, and others. Michael has received design awards from PRINT Magazine, Graphic Design USA, HOW and others. Michael has taught design at Parsons The New School for Design as Assistant Professor in the Photography Department since 2004. He is a member of the AIGA (American Institute for the Graphic Arts), the Type Directors Club, the Center for Book Arts, NY, and the Arts Students League of New York.
