The mission of the
Sheila C. Johnson Design Center (SJDC) is to generate an active dialogue on the role of innovative art and design in responding to our contemporary world. Its critical curatorial agenda, provoked by current environmental and social challenges, reflects and advances creative research and pedagogic practices. The
public programs in its two galleries encourage an interdisciplinary examination of possibility and process, blurring the boundaries between classroom, laboratory and exhibition, and link the university to local and global debates.
Each spring, Parsons hosts its annual
Fashion Benefit and
Parsons Festival, celebrating the talent and creativity of our students. The benefit draws the support of Parsons' alumni and friends in raising scholarship funds for incoming classes, at the same time highlighting the work of graduating Fashion students. The festival showcases diverse work from students across Parsons' academic programs through a broad range of events and exhibitions. Join us in May, when we open up our galleries, halls, and classrooms, for a taste of what the future in art and design promises to bring.
