Established in 1966 in memory of Aflred Schutz, The Husserl Archives at the New School for Social Research is a research center for phenomenology and phenomenological philosophy under the direction oSchutzf the Department of Philosophy. The center is in possession of a collection of copies of transcriptions of Edmund Husserl's unpublished writings from the Husserl Archives in Leuven, Belgium.

The purpose of The Husserl Archives at the New School is to promote and facilitate research on the work of Edmund Husserl and phenomenological philosophy generally. The activities of the center include the organization of small research groups, seminars, and internet projects that bring together international students and scholars working in a variety of fields in or related to phenomenological philosophy.
