  • Mannes has historically served as a home base for a variety of excellent musical programs which operate independently while maintaining close, mutually enriching relationships with the school.

    Schneider Concerts

Mannes is home to the acclaimed Schneider Concerts series, launched in 1957 as New School Concerts, with the dual aim of providing exposure for outstanding emerging professional chamber artists and presenting high-quality chamber music performances at modest ticket prices to ensure access for all New Yorkers. Each year Schneider Concerts presents a full season of concerts featuring the most exciting emerging chamber ensembles.

    New York String Orchestra Seminar

Mannes also proudly hosts the New York String Orchestra Seminar. For half a century the seminar has offered professional training to gifted string, wind, brass, and timpani students, introducing them to new musical ideas, offering them chamber music coaching from members of the world's top ensembles, and giving them the challenge of performing at a professional level onstage at Carnegie Hall. The seminar is led by artistic director and conductor Jaime Laredo.

New York Guitar Seminar at Mannes

Every summer since 2001, Mannes opens its doors to a group of talented guitarists and music lovers of all ages and skill levels for a week of intensive technical and musical training. Program directors Michael Newman and Laura Oltman, of Mannes Ensemble in Residence, the Newman and Oltman Guitar Duo, are joined by other illustrious guitar faculty in offering an array of master classes, ensemble coachings, faculty concerts, and student performance opportunities.
