Below you’ll find a checklist of required application materials for our Master of Music and Professional Studies Diploma programs, as well as specific instructions for each program. All required materials should be submitted before the posted deadlines.
The College of Performing Arts will hold on-campus auditions for both spring and fall entry.
Spring 2023 Composition and Theory interviews will be held online. Fall 2023 Composition and Theory interviews will have hybrid options.
Application Deadlines
Fall
Application: December 1
Prescreening: December 1 (Composition, Conducting, Piano, and Voice only)
Final Audition Recordings: February 1
Live Auditions: Late February/early March—applicants will be invited to schedule in December
Spring
Application: October 15
Prescreening: October 15 (Composition, Conducting, Piano, and Voice only)
Final Audition Recordings: November 1
FAFSA (U.S. Citizens and Eligible Non-citizens)
Fall Applicants: February 1
Spring Applicants: November 1
While we strongly encourage all applicants to apply by or before these deadlines, we will accept applications and recorded auditions/portfolios on a rolling basis after the deadline if space allows. Prescreening Requirements
Only Composition, Conducting, Piano, and Voice applicants require prescreening. All other disciplines should submit final recorded video auditions at any point during the application process, but no later than the deadline listed below.
Prior Degree Completion
Graduate degree applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or the equivalent degree from a foreign college or university. Applicants in the process of completing the bachelor's degree may apply for admission. Admission to the program requires completion of the bachelor's degree.
