Parker Lee was appointed Principal Timpanist of the MET Orchestra in May 2017. Additionally, he has served as guest timpanist with the Cleveland Orchestra, National Symphony, Malaysian Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and the Chattanooga Symphony. Parker holds a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where he studied primarily with John Tafoya. He completed his graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Paul Yancich. Parker also studied with Ted Atkatz at Lynn Conservatory and Tom Freer at Cleveland State University. Parker has given several timpani clinics across the country at schools such as The Colburn School, Manhattan School of Music, and Lynn University. He can be heard on several grammy winning recordings with the MET as well as "Met Opera live in HD" broadcasts.
