    Profile

    Translator of Heinrich Schenker’s writings, including “A Contribution to the Study of Ornamentation” (in The Music Forum), J. S. Bach’s Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, and several essays in The Masterwork in Music. Editor of Schenker Studies and, with Carl Schachter, of Schenker Studies 2. Served as editorial assistant of The Music Forum, editor of Theory and Practice, associate editor of RILM Abstracts. Taught music theory at Hunter College, 1975-2005. Techniques of Music Faculty since 1997.
