Curricular Practical Training
CPT is off-campus work in your field of study that is considered "an integral part of an established curriculum." Students planning to engage in CPT thus have to be registered for an internship course. F-1 students are permitted to work off campus only in approved internships (paid or unpaid) that are related to their field of study.
The university has temporarily suspended all CPT requests for work experiences that do not constitute a formal requirement in a student’s degree curriculum based on the SEVP broadcast message from August 12th and follow up guidance from August 24th
