    Lab

We influence and contribute to size inclusion through research, industry practice, and creation of an educational framework.

Founded in 2023, the Size Inclusion in Fashion (SIF) Lab at Parsons School of Design promotes size-inclusive practices through education, scholarly and applied research and innovation, industry collaboration, and community building. Our approach is informed by the work of the Fat Liberation Movement (NAAFA) and Health at Every Size (ASDAH) and by socially just and sustainable fashion practices.

Our work challenges conventional limited-sizing practices by removing the barriers for industry, destigmatizing plus and fat bodies in fashion, developing and testing best-practice solutions and resources, mapping current industry practices, and advocating for body-neutral fashion education. SIF influences and contributes to size inclusion as a field of study, industry practice, and educational framework.
