On The Mend provides accessible and affordable coping and holistic healing skills to queer people of color (QPOC). On The Mend offers anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices in a self-help video format, allowing folks to begin their healing process at their own pace. The course modules, delivered by licensed mental health counselors, provide powerful key therapeutic skills and speak to the concerns of QPOC. Modules can be worked through at one’s own pace and are offered at an affordable price (included sliding scale) to reach a larger audience while acknowledging the systemic economic inequalities and other barriers that can prevent QPOC folks from accessing quality mental health care. Increasing the ability of QPOC folks to re-author and re-narrate past and ongoing trauma is a theme that runs through all course modules and is directly connected to the educational background of co-founder Deanna Richards.
