Undergraduate Virtual Admission Appointments
These online appointments are for prospective first-year or transfer students and family members who would like to speak with the Welcome Center Admission counselor about undergraduate admission and enrollment at Parsons School of Design, Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, and/or the College of Performing Arts.

During the summer term (May 24-August 20), we will be offering undergraduate virtual admission appointments at the times listed below.

• Mondays at 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 12:30 p.m.
• Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.
• Thursdays at 3:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

During the fall term (August 30-December 17), we will be offering undergraduate virtual admission appointments at the times listed below.

• Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 10:30 a.m.
• Wednesdays at 12:00 noon, 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.

Graduate/AAS Virtual Admission Appointments
These appointments provide potential graduate or associate's degree applicants with the opportunity to meet individually with an Admission counselor to identify the best-fit program and discuss the admission process at Parsons School of Design, the Schools of Public Engagement, and/or The New School for Social Research.

These events are open fairs for graduates, undergraduates, and/or transfer students, at which Admission representatives staff a table on behalf of The New School. They serve as an initial point of contact between students and colleges without students needing to travel to visit the college itself, allowing them to interact with admission representatives from a wide range of post-secondary institutions.

We invite prospective students to join us for a scheduled online chat, webinar, or information session. These online events feature Admission staff, current students, alumni, and/or faculty.

Graduate Studies at The New School
These virtual events, hosted by the Office of Admission, will provide a brief overview of academic options, interdisciplinary research opportunities, and the overall graduate student experience. This session is best suited to those looking for a general introduction to graduate study at The New School.

This online information session will provide details about the Creative Writing MFA program, curriculum, and faculty. A current student and a member of the Admission team will be available to assist with your application, admission, and student life questions. School of Media Studies Information Session
This online information session will provide details about the Media Studies, Media Management, and Documentary Studies programs, curricula, and faculty. A member of the Admission team will be available to assist with your application- and admission-related questions. Our flexible, interdisciplinary curriculum allows for highly personalized pathways of study. We're committed to creating and managing media in the service of a more just and humane world.

The New School invites prospective undergraduate students and their families to discover our university. Portfolio review events offer anyone wishing to pursue higher education in the visual arts and related fields an opportunity to meet representatives of colleges accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. School representatives are available to review your artwork, discuss programs, and answer questions about professional careers in art and design. 

During the summer term (May 24-August 20), we will be offering the online portfolio review events described below.

Parsons Portfolio Review Appointments
Meet with a Parsons Admission representative for a virtual portfolio review! These portfolio review sessions give undergraduate prospective students the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Parsons Admission representative for general admission advising and discussion of work being considered for inclusion in an application portfolio. Please arrive promptly at the scheduled start time; the meeting will last for 15 minutes. Be prepared to share digital documentation of your portfolio. Please include your best and most recent work, works-in-progress, and sketchbooks are also welcome.

Review sessions are offered at a variety of times on weekdays throughout the summer.

Thinking about transferring to The New School from another university or community college? Our Transfer Days provide potential applicants with the opportunity to identify the best-fit program and receive an estimate of earned transfer credits and timeline to graduation.

During the summer term (May 24-August 20), we will be offering the transfer events described below. 

Transfer Wednesdays
Thinking about transferring to The New School? Follow your passions and further your career in one of our undergraduate programs. Our Transfer Days provide potential applicants to the College of Performing Arts, Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, Parsons School of Design, and our Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students with the opportunity to identify the best-fit program and receive an estimate of earned transfer credits and timeline to graduation. These events are ideal for students who have attended college in the past and/or are currently enrolled at a community college.

• Wednesdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Transfer Undergraduate Discover Day
The New School invites prospective undergraduate students and their families to discover our university. Parsons AAS Information Sessions
These virtual information sessions, hosted by the Office of Admission, will provide an overview of Parsons' Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees in Communication Design, Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing and Communication, and Interior Design. These intensive programs are designed for career changers or students who have some college experience and want to launch or advance a career in design or fashion.

Are you interested in transferring to a bachelor's program at Parsons School of Design? This virtual information session, hosted by the Office of Admission, will guide you through the transfer process.

Information Sessions are 45- to 60-minute in-person presentations by Admission staff and/or faculty designed for students interested in applying for admission.

These virtual events are for prospective first-year undergraduate students interested in learning how to write an effective college essay. Admission staff will provide essay development tips to help you feel comfortable writing and submitting your college essay. Learn about essay topics and what admission counselors look for when reviewing application essays.

Virtual Undergraduate Application Preparation Workshops
These virtual events are for prospective first-year students interested in applying to The New School and learning how to assemble a solid admission application. This webinar will give in-depth information about The New School’s admission application process, including standard application requirements, relevant supplemental materials, and insight into what the admission committee looks for when making decisions.

These virtual events are for high school students who are interested in learning more about the college search process and various factors to consider when looking for the right college. This webinar will provide general information on topics such as types of colleges and universities, degree types, common admission deadlines, and standard application requirements.
