Parsons Paris

Study Abroad

  • IMG - Parsons Paris Study Abroad

As members of the New School community, Parsons Paris students can study in both New York and Paris, making both cities part of their learning experience. They can also apply to study at pre-approved programs at peer institutions. Visiting or transfer students may apply directly to Parsons Paris.

Parsons Paris offers several ways to study abroad. We recommend that Parsons students in Paris and in New York City speak with their academic advisor to discuss options and identify the best one. Study options are detailed below.

    • The New School (TNS) Mobility: Parsons Paris students can apply to study at Parsons School of Design and in other New School programs in NYC. Studying in New York gives students the flexibility to take a range of courses in a different global context. Similarly, students at the New York campus can come to Paris for a semester or a year, depending on their field of study. If students are interested in continuing on this path of study, they may apply for a campus change after one semester or year of mobility.
    • Exchange Programs: Parsons partners with some of the best art and design institutions around the world to give our students the opportunity to study in different cultural contexts. Parsons Paris has privileged partnerships with two French design schools, ENSCI-Les Ateliers and École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (Ensad), which require students to use conversational French (A1-B2 levels). Students can view major-specific study abroad opportunities by expanding major-specific study abroad policies.
    • Direct Application Programs: Other opportunities for study abroad exist through programs that are vetted by our program directors. Although not always affiliated with Parsons, these programs offer additional ways for Parsons students to study abroad.
    • Visiting Students: Each semester, Parsons Paris admits a small number of visiting students from unaffiliated colleges and universities. Students have the option to join the existing BFA or BBA programs, or join our Fashion Cultures & Design Cultures CODA Suites.
    • Summer Programs: Summer Intensive Studies programs are available to pre-college and college/adult-level students for three weeks every summer. Learn more about this option on the Summer Programs page.
    • Transfer Students: Students from other universities who want to transfer to Parsons Paris must contact our Admission office.
