Institutional Support

Important allies in our mission include The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation, which has continued to support our students’ success through a renewed investment of $300,000 in the Petrie Student Emergency Fund. The fund is a source of aid for students who experience sudden economic hardship, including any hardship caused by the job losses resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Institutional Giving team has partnered with the Institute on Race, Power and Political Economy since the institute’s launch in August 2020, helping to create a portfolio of more than $10 million in new grant support that is being applied to research on structural inequalities and action to promote equity. Key funders include the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, JPMorgan Chase, and the Omidyar Network.

Also of note is The Henry Luce Foundation’s $275,000 grant, which has enabled the Design for Social Innovation and Sustainability Lab at Parsons to partner with a Brazilian nongovernmental organization on creating new models for social housing in São Paulo. Ongoing support from the JPB Foundation and the Angelo Donghia Foundation underwrites the activities of the Healthy Materials Lab at Parsons, which has employed 65 student researchers and recent alumni over the last five years.
