Program Update
This program will not be admitting new students for the 2026–2027 academic year and beyond. Today, we are in the midst of an exciting redesign of several programs intended to address the urgent challenges of our times. We invite you to explore our website for related programs and courses.
Develop the skills you need to thrive as an artist, adding to your talents as a musician, composer, actor, director, playwright, or multidisciplinary artist. The Master’s in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship enables you to deepen your abilities as a performer while gaining knowledge and skills that prepare you for a diverse range of career options in performing arts management, arts administration, entrepreneurship, arts education, cultural policy and advocacy, and arts philanthropy.
The curriculum and courses of the Arts Management and Entrepreneurship MA are tailored specifically to advance the careers of practicing performing artists. You are not just encouraged but required to maintain your artistic practice while you are developing your enterprise skills and knowledge. To facilitate this, you have the opportunity to take courses, pitch projects, and potentially perform with students and faculty from the Mannes, Jazz, and Drama schools in our College of Performing Arts. You can also receive credit for artistic work done outside of the university, like playing gigs with a band.

Pablo Helguera, Pablo Helguera, Assistant Professor, Arts Management and Entrepreneurship MAArtists never work in a vacuum— we always work in dialogue and often in collaboration with others. Our program offers performing artists the tools to become initiators and leaders of those conversations for the 21st century, as well as the knowledge to bring positive change in the world.
