  • We believe that honoring one another’s differences reinforces our own personal freedom. The Office of Intercultural Support (OIS) works with students of diverse backgrounds to build a community at The New School. OIS offers programs, workshops, services, and individual counseling to support and promote the diverse world perspectives at The New School. The staff also works closely with recognized student organizations and the Social Justice Committee.

    Information for Transgender Students

    Current transgender students who have not legally changed their names can request that the university notify their instructors of their preferred first name and pronoun. Students should contact the Office of Intercultural Support at 212.229.8996 or [email protected] for more information.
