Open Enrollment

This year's annual benefits enrollment period begins on Monday, November 2, and ends on Monday, November 30, 2026. Changes made to your coverage will go into effect on January 1, 2027.

The New School has designed a benefits plan to meet the needs of our diverse employees. A thorough understanding of your benefits options can help you ensure that you have the appropriate level of coverage for your and your family's needs and that you have chosen the most cost-effective plan for your needs. Important Reminder

You cannot change or adjust your benefit elections outside of the open enrollment period unless you experience a qualifying event such as marriage, divorce, the birth or adoption of a child, or gain or loss of coverage. Benefits governed by this rule include all medical and dental elections and flexible spending.

Benefit changes due to a qualifying life event must be made within 31 days of the event and require submission of supporting documentation. After 31 days, changes to medical, dental, and flex spending benefits must be made during Open Enrollment

Important Guidance for 2027 Open Enrollment

This year’s enrollment is an Active Enrollment, meaning every benefits-eligible employee must log into MyDay to actively select and submit specific benefit elections for 2027. Benefits elections for 2026 will not automatically roll over for 2027.  Additional instructions and resources will be shared prior to November 2nd. 

How to Enroll

Follow the steps below to review your current elections and make changes to your benefits enrollment for 2027.

1. Learn more about your benefits and the benefit changes for 2027 by reviewing your Open Enrollment Guide and our Open Enrollment Overview card.
2. Review your current benefit elections and costs in MyDay. Click on the Benefits app on your homepage, then select View > Benefit Elections.
3. Once you have submitted your changes or elections, you can use the Print button in MyDay to download a PDF for your records.

All changes will go into effect on January 1, 2027.

Note: Qualified Transportation Expense and Tax Deferred Annuity Retirement Plan changes can be made outside of the Open Enrollment Benefit Event.
