To-Do List for Financial Literacy

  • Create a budget for one academic year:
    • Refer to the estimated Cost of Attendance for the average cost of attending The New School.   
    • Estimate your resources, including job earnings, parent contributions, gifts, and financial aid.
    • Determine whether your resources will cover your cost of attendance.
  • Build your credit by managing your credit card usage.
  • Make smart spending choices by tracking your expenditures for one week or one month.
  • Learn about taking out federal student loans here.
  • Project your future earnings in your chosen profession through online resources such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
