Creative Writing at The New School
Immerse yourself in a creative community of renowned writers and faculty while developing your craft. Choose an area of focus—fiction, nonfiction, playwriting, poetry, screenwriting, writing for children and young adults—or design your own path of study. In our writing courses, you learn from award-winning authors and through peer critiques in workshops and small seminar classes.
Our location in Greenwich Village, in the heart of New York City, offers you unlimited opportunities to explore your interests. Intern at a publishing house, write for one of our literary journals or create your own, and attend author events and craft talks throughout the year. Programs at The New School reflect our faculty’s strong connections with literary communities in NYC. Join our vibrant collective of writers, connect with peers, workshop ideas, collaborate, and create together.
