    Luis Galli

    Profile

    Professor Galli began teaching at The New School in 2002. He has taught all levels of Spanish and created unique and advanced courses combined with Drama such as: Theater in Spanish, Cita en Espanol, Amores de Telenovela etc. He has served as Coordinator of Spanish, Coordinator of Drama and movement and currently as Coordinator of Languages Tutoring. He graduated from Law and Political Sciences at Universidad de Lima and got sponsored by the British Council to pursue his MA in Environmental Law. Professor Galli has worked in law firms in Peru and at the United Nations in Switzerland before changing careers. His second MA was in Advertising and Marketing while working for the U.N  In 2001came to NY graduating from the M.F.A. program Actor’s Studio in 2004 and has worked in 40 plays off & off-off Broadway and 20 films (ImdB) internationally. Prof. Galli has directed for stage and acted, co-produced and cast for feature films & TV series currently airing in TV such as Saint Rose of Lima receiving the Latin ACE 2017 award for best character actor.

    During summers Prof. Galli has taught drama workshops in Europe such as Warsaw Film Institute etc. As a Professor he participates in Conferences and as an actor and producer attends International film festivals.Luis has also written his first novel a thriller titled "Vanished Woman" (Mujer Desaparecida) awaiting publication in Spanish by La Travesia, Publishing house.

                                 Luis also collaborated with an essay about stand up comedy entitled:

                               Luis wrote his first novel, a love triangle thriller set in Lima, Peru during the terrorist time. "Mujer Desaparecida" (Vanished woman")                                       expected publication on July 2018 by La Travesia publishing house.

    Awards And Honors

    Luis got the 2017 Latin ACE Award for Best Character Actor in the period TV series Saint Rose of Lima. This TV series is a co-production between EWTN USA and Azul Corporacion Peru.

    The NY Latino community honored Luis with the HOLA award for best actor in a movie "Teresa, The libertador's Fiance"/ "La Amante del Libertador' 2014, N.Y.C., U.S.A. This movie was also screened at New School Alvin Johnson/J.M. Kaplan Auditorium in 2015. Other Honorees the same year were Benicio del Toro and Andy Garcia.

    On the Academic side, Luis got a nomination for: Teaching Excellence at The New School, 2008, N.Y.C., U.S.A.
