Curriculum
The curriculum below applies to the BA degree in Environmental Studies. To view degree requirements for the BS degree from prior years, visit the Academic Catalogs archive. Current students
(BA and BS) are encouraged to track their progress using the program requirements worksheet (see below).
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies is awarded upon the completion of 120 credits, including at least 55 credits in the major. This consists of 13 courses, an internship, and a senior thesis.
Only specific courses satisfy the major requirements, including electives. Not all courses are offered each semester. Courses should be chosen carefully, in consultation with the chair of the program.
Credit for a concentration is earned by completing three 3000- or 4000-level courses approved for that concentration. Students are encouraged, but not required, to choose a concentration.
The BA degree in Environmental Studies requires successful completion of 13 courses distributed as described below, an internship, and the senior capstone/directed-research project.
