The Adult Bachelor's reflects the goal of lifelong higher learning articulated by the founders of The New School in 1919. Today, we continue to dedicate ourselves to that mission in a program that offers exceptional services and an innovative curriculum to nearly 1,000 adult students in New York City and online.

The faculty of the Adult Bachelor's is comprised of a diverse group of scholars and practitioners whose research interests include the 26 subject areas offered by the program. The program's Core Faculty Advisors help students develop a plan of study that assists you in attaining your degree and positions you for what comes next.

University

Our undergraduate, graduate, and student teams host a wide range of admission events throughout the year. You can learn all about our programs, the process of applying or transferring, preparation of a portfolio or audition repertoire, and life in our classrooms and on our New York City campus.
Our Welcome Center building is located at 2 West 13th Street (at Fifth Avenue).
Visit our Welcome Center Virtual Desk weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. ET to connect with a student assistant and learn more about our academic programs, our admission requirements, and campus life.

  Get an insider’s look at an education defined by open discussion in small classes, active learning, and immersion in the latest ideas and practices. Our half-day Open House events for undergraduate or graduate study introduce you to Admission counselors, financial aid representatives, current students, and faculty members who will answer your questions about the admission process, academic life, student life, and job opportunities after you graduate.

  Thinking about transferring to The New School from another university or community college? Our Transfer Days provide potential applicants with the opportunity to identify the best-fit program and receive an estimate of earned transfer credits and a timeline to graduation.

- Undergraduate Virtual Information Sessions
  
  Information Sessions are 45- to 60-minute in-person presentations by Admission staff and/or faculty designed for students interested in applying for admission. We'll review program details, the admission process, application requirements, transfer credit policies, and more.
