Research Interests:
A series of short biographical essays on selected ancient and modern philosophers, composed in the spirit of Plutarch's Lives, as a means to provoke moral reflection. The modern philosophers will include Montaigne, Rousseau, Kierkegaard, Emerson, Nietzsche, probably Marx and certainly Heidegger; among the ancient philosophers considered are likely to be Socrates, Plato, Diogenes the Cynic, Epicurus, Pyrrho, Seneca, and Augustine.
